What is Unix timestamp ? Unix timestamp is modern UTC time encoded as number. And the unix timestamp is precisely the number of seconds elapsed since the Unix epoch. Unix epoch is the time 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970.
The unix time number is zero at the Unix epoch and increases by 86400 per day since the epoch.
Because the unix timestamp is often stored in computers with a signed 32 bits integer, the latest time that can be represented this way is 03:14:07 UTC on Tuesday, 19 January 2038.
This problem is also known as Unix Millennium Bug, or Y2K38.
